The Path Of Abraham’s Faith

In the Old Testament, a personal relationship with God is exemplified via separation, as illustrated by Abraham's departure from his homeland and his relatives. Currently, the separation is predominantly a conceptual and moral divergence from the perspectives of those closest to us, particularly if they lack a personal relationship with God. Jesus Christ emphasized this (see to St. Luke 14:26).

Faith is unaware of its destination, yet it cherishes and recognizes the One who guides it. It is a life of faith, rather than intellect and reason, characterized by an awareness of the source of our motivation. The foundation of religion lies in the understanding of an individual, and a significant pitfall is the belief that God will inevitably guide us to triumph.

The ultimate phase in the journey of faith is the achievement of character. Numerous transient transformations of character occur; during prayer, we sense the divine grace enveloping us, temporarily altering our state, only to return to mundane existence as the splendor dissipates. The life of religion is not characterized by soaring, but by perseverance and resilience. It transcends sanctification, representing a faith that has been rigorously tested and validated. Abraham exemplifies not sanctification, but rather the essence of a life of faith—an authentic faith tested by a genuine God. “Abraham had faith in God.”

1. Faith Necessitates Compliance - Abraham promptly adhered to God's summons. Genuine faith is evidenced by prompt and steadfast obedience.

2. Divine Calling Necessitates Action - Faith is not inert. Abraham responded proactively, departing from his familiar environment without knowledge of his ultimate destination.

3. Trust in the Unseen - Abraham advanced without knowledge of his destination, demonstrating that faith frequently necessitates reliance on God beyond human comprehension.

4. Divine Guidance Superseding Human Security - Abraham departed from the safety of his homeland, demonstrating that faith relies on God's promises rather than individual comfort.

5. Inheritance is Attained via Faith – Abraham's compliance resulted in God's promised inheritance, underscoring that divine favors are acquired via faith and submission.

6. Faith Is a Journey, Not Merely a Destination - Abraham's narrative illustrates that faith encompasses ongoing progression and dependence on divine guidance throughout one's life.

The ministry has been accompanied by numerous signs and wonders, which have occurred as a direct consequence of the proclamation of the Gospel and its acceptance via faith.
