Our Inheritance
Psalm 47:4
Believer, you should be content with your earthly portion even if it is a humble inheritance; for you can rest assured that it is the most suitable for you. Unerring wisdom predetermined your fate and chose the most secure and favorable circumstances for you. A vessel carrying a significant amount of cargo is en route up the river; however, there is a sandbank in one section of the current; should someone inquire, "Why does the captain navigate through the deep channel and deviate so greatly from the straight line?" "Because I could not bring my vessel into port if I did not adhere to the deep channel," would be his response. Consequently, it is possible that you would perish at sea and run aground if not for the guidance of your divine captain as you venture into the depths of peril, where successive surges of trouble occur in rapid succession. Certain vegetation perish when exposed to excessive sunlight. It is possible that you are placed in a certain situation by a benevolent spouse, but even if that is the case, it is precisely because of such circumstances that you will develop into something magnificent. Always keep in mind that divine love would have placed you in your current situation if it were in any other favorable condition. You are predestined by God to be in the most favorable conditions; if you had the ability to determine your own fate, you would quickly beg the Lord, "Select my inheritance for me; for I am pierced through with many sorrows by my own volition." Be satisfied with the resources at your disposal, for everything has been orchestrated by the Lord for your benefit. Engage in personal discipline on a daily basis; this is the load most ideally adapted to your capacity, and it will most effectively enable you to perfect every virtuous word and labor for the glory of God. Your choice, you frantic and self-assured impatience, does not rest with you; it rests with the Lord of Love.
"Trials are inevitable and will continue to befall us; however, it brings me joy to see Love imprinted upon each one; this is humble faith."
